When will the conference take place?
The IAS COVID-19 Conference: Prevention will be held on Tuesday, 2 February 2021. The programme is currently scheduled to run from 15:00 CET until 22:00 CET.
Will this conference be virtual?
Yes. The IAS COVID-19 Conference: Prevention will be a hosted virtually. It is scheduled to start at 15:00 CET on Tuesday, 2 February and will close at 22:00 CET.
Will I need to pay a registration fee to attend?
Yes, the fees for registration can be found here two-tiered fee structure with lower registration fees for delegates from upper-middle income countries, lower-middle income countries and low-income countries (based on the World Bank Classification), and students/youth/post-docs.
If you are already registered to attend the HIVR4P // Virtual Conference you will not have to pay a fee or submit a separate registration. Your registration is automatically extended to the COVID-19 Conference.
How can I register?
You can register through the Conference Account platform. Delegates already registered for the HIV Research for Prevention Conference – known as HIVR4P // Virtual – are automatically registered to attend the COVID-19 Conference.
Who will attend?
The IAS COVID-19 Conference: Prevention will bring together scientists, policy makers, healthcare professionals, people most affected by COVID-19, funders, media and community. Anyone interested in the latest science, policy and practice of the COVID-19 pandemic can register through the Conference Account platform.
How can I submit an abstract?
You can submit an abstract by clicking here. You will find abstract submission guidelines available, detailing information such as deadline dates and track categories.
Is there a programme available?
A detailed programme will be announced on the COVID-19 Conference website in due course. This will include invited- speaker sessions and abstract presentations and more, exclusively dedicated to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Who will review the COVID-19 abstract submissions?
All submitted abstracts go through a blind peer-review process carried out by a team of expert abstract reviewers.
Is this connected to the IAS HIVR4P // Virtual conference?
Both conferences are organized by IAS – the International AIDS Society. While HIVR4P // Virtual will examine how the lessons of HIV prevention apply to SARS CoV-2, among many other topics, the one-day COVID-19 conference will address the latest developments in COVID-19 Prevention exclusively
